Air Element Study; Lesson One Craft Project - Air Element Candle

Air Element Lesson One Craft Project
Decorate an Air Element Candle!

After reading Lesson One on the Air Element Correspondences you probably have some good ideas of what kinds of things to decorate your candle with!  This project is simple and fun!  Find a small to medium candle in a glass jar, or a glass candle holder that you can put candles in.
Find or make things to decorate your candles.... like stickers, yellow ribbon, charms, or make designs on yellow parer to cut out and paste onto your candle.  Some example of symbols to use are the Air Element Symbol, a Spiral,  or the symbols for the astrological Air signs; Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius.  You can add words like "Sing", "Music", "Learn", "Mind", "Inspire", "Spring", "East", etc.... whatever you want to add from your list of correspondences will be perfect!

Here are some examples (and different angles) on the ones my daughter and I made to give you some ideas;

Have fun with it!  Afterwards you can say a prayer and smudge your candle with sage to bless it.  Ask the East, The Air, Guardians of the Watchtowers of the East, The Angels, The Sylphs, and Spring Faeries to bless your candle for use in Air Magick and meditation.
Place your Air Candle on your Air Element Altar.  You will be using it for more spells and meditations.  Also, when the candle inside is used up, you can use it over as a candle holder again by adding another candle, or you can use it as a jar for holding air-element things like feathers and incense sticks!

Paper Fetish!

I like looking around at etsy shops. Even though I currently don't have the extra money to buy most of the things I see, I still like browsing around at what people are making and selling. Today I found this site called Paper Fetish. OMGs! Talk about something that is ALWAYS on my wishlist! Blank Journals and Notebooks... handcrafted... leather... or farbric.... this place has some beautiful hand made journals and I would love to get my hands on some of these! I always have journals laying around.... and when I go in a bookstore it takes a huge amount of restraint and self-control to not walk out with more blank journals! If you're interested in journals, or are looking for a gift for someone, I would suggest this etsy shop, Paper Fetish!!!

I found out about this site from the "31 Days of Yule Giveaway" at The Soccer Mom's Guide to Wicca!

Tuesday's Oracle ~ Ear Chakras ~

(O.K., I know, it's been a long time since I have posted an Oracle card for you. Sorry about the delay!)
Today's card is from Doreen Virtue's "Angel Therapy Oracle Cards". (Hay House, Inc.)

Ear Chakras
"Notice message that appear s sounds, music, and words, both from external sources and within your mind. These messages are real answers to your prayers."

(Artwork on this card is by Audrey Rawlings Arena; www.fantasyartbyaudrey.com )

The message for this week is simple. LISTEN.
Listen to your inner voice, Listen to what people tell you, Listen to what you hear in music and in idle chatter. Somewhere in the sounds and noises, there may be a message for you. "Repetitive songs, an overheard conversation, a stranger's out-of-the-blue reassurances, or words that you hear in your mind. The angel's messages are always loving, positive,trustworthy, and constructive." ~ Doreen Virtue, from the Angel Therapy Guidebook

Enjoy The Silence
Take about 30 minutes to sit in complete silence. You may have to wait until everyone else is asleep, but take some time to turn off the radio, the T.V., the fans, anything that may create noise in your environment. When was the last time it you enjoyed complete silence? (Other than when you are sleeping) Be mindful of the silence, and how it makes you feel. What can you hear? Traffic in the distance? Neighborhood pets? Wind or birds? Is it harder to let your mind drift in he silence, or easier? Does it make you feel uncomfortable, or more peaceful? Try not to judge how your quiet time feels, just take notice of it. Take some time for meditation, quiet breathing, prayer, or yoga while you enjoy the silence.

Action Steps (from the guidebook)
In a quiet place where you are undisturbed, say the following prayer to the Archangel Michael, "I now ask you to vacuum and clear any lower energies in my physical ears and ear chakras. I am willing to release anything painful that I've ever heard, in exchange for clarity in my ability to hear the voice of love and the Angels."

Taurus Necklace

The girls were bored today and kept fighting with eachother. So I got out the bead box and sat them both at the kitchen table to make necklaces. I had cleaning to be doing, but the lure of doing something artsy was much stronger, I have been neglecting my creative flow (other than blogging) So I decided to make a neckalce too. I began searching through my beads, and I found a couple little astrological pendants, one of them was a little Bull representing Taurus. My best friend is a Taurus, and I thought it would be cool to make her a "just because" present;
Not only does it have the little Bull, but I also managed to get the Taurus symbol worked into the necklace as well, can you see it? The circle with horns...
I included lots of green, because Taurus is an Earth Sign, so the green is there to represent Earth / Grounding / Stability. (Also, it's one of her favorite colors) There are two hematite beads right above the Bull to add some more of that grounding energy. I also added some Sodalite beads (The blue with white marbling). Sodalite helps balance the Throat Chakra, and aid in positive communication skills, being able to hear the truth, and being able to speak your own truth with Love and Clarity. I infused the string with Jasmine Essential Oil for Peace and Love, and blessedthe necklace with a smudging of Sage for a final touch. Just wanted to share!
