Thursday's 13 - Lunar Liberation

It's time for another Thursday's 13, Tarot Mom style! Here are 13 versions of the tarot card, 18 The Moon! Through exploring and comparing many different artists' interpretations and symbols used for this card, we can get a clearer picture of what the card means! Through all these cards I see the themes of Mystery, Secrets, Divination, Dreams, Fear, Instinct, Illusion, Mother Goddess, etc. The beauty mingled with darkness, of the things we can only see by moonlight, or by peering within the depths of our true Lunar selves. Enjoy!

  1. I'd own that Deviant deck. It really speaks to me. And why do so many of them have Hebrew letters in the margin? And both the full and the crescent moon on the image?

    Hmm. Interesting.

  3. Susan -
The Hebrew letters on cards are based on the Kabbalah (spelling?), symbols and meanings which are present on many decks.

Both the Full and Crescent moon represent the Cycles of the Moon, how everything in life ebbs and flows, and symbolic of the Goddess in her form as Maiden, Mother, and Crone.

    The Moon Card:

Fears and anxieties, believing illusions, experiencing distortion and chasing after fantasy, dreams and visions, disorientation.

You demi-puppets that By moonshine do the green sour ringlets make, Whereof ewe not bites; and you, whose pastime Is to make midnight mushrooms...
